Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said in 2020 that Dominique Thorne will play Riri Williams, a.k.a. Ironheart, in her own original series that would be based on the comic book character. Phase Five’s Ironheart will debut on Disney+ sometime in the autumn of 2023.
Furthermore, Riri Williams’ comic history will serve as the series’ basis even if information about it is still somewhat few. In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri “Ironheart” Williams made her first appearance, which provided the opportunity to learn more about her life. Here is all the information you need about Ironheart.
The MCU has welcomed Ironheart with a bang. In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams makes her on-screen debut, showcasing her laboratory prowess and charming us with her one-liners. Therefore, it is only fitting that the brilliant inventor and MIT student will have her own series on Disney Plus, which will be available to us in 2019.
Ironheart
Dominique Thorne is reprising her role as Riri, and she will be accompanied by Anthony Ramos as The Hood and, maybe, a certain comic as the enigmatic antagonist Mephisto. The Ironheart Disney Plus series release window, cast details, and an analysis of the initial video that was seen behind closed doors are all included in the comprehensive overview we’ve provided below.
The MCU officially began in 2008 with the release of Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, which of course starred Robert Downey Jr. in the title role. As most people are well aware, the movie was a huge commercial and critical success that helped launch a franchise that continues to be going strong today.
Since Tony Stark famously gave his life in an epic final fight with Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Endgame, the supposedly invincible Iron Man is no longer avenging Earth.
The MCU has positioned Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as Tony Stark’s protégé, but there is another character who has just entered the Marvel books and made her live-action debut in one of the year’s biggest films. There is now an Iron Man-shaped hole in the hearts of Marvel fans.
Ironheart Cast
Thorne will play Riri Williams/Ironheart on the program after making her MCU debut in the Black Panther sequel. Since Riri’s casting was revealed in December 2020, a number of celebrities have reportedly joined the cast, including Anthony Ramos, who is speculated to portray Parker Robbins/The Hood, and Lyric Ross, who plays Riri’s closest buddy.
Jim Rash will also return in his previous appearance as the Dean of MIT in Captain America: Civil War.
Harper Anthony, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, Regan Aliyah, Shakira Barrera, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola, Sonia Denis, Paul Calderón, and Cree Summer in unspecified roles are also included in the cast.
Anthony Ramos, a star of In the Heights, announced in February on Instagram that he too will be a part of the Ironheart ensemble. He’ll be portraying the comic book villain Parker Robbins/The Hood.
Ramos gave a brief explanation of his character’s traits during the presentation at D23 Expo 2022. According to Marvel, Ramos added, “Parker really feels that what he’s doing is good.” “Parker punches the ass. I’m not sure whether I can say that, but I have already done so.”
Ironheart Plot
In the comics, 11-year-old prodigy Riri Williams is given the scholarship to attend MIT. While still a student, she collects supplies from several locations on school and crafts an Iron Man-style suit of armor out of them. (The adolescent reverse-engineers one of Tony Stark’s suits since he is a huge fan.)
Williams leaves school after being accused of stealing by MIT. She captures two prisoners escaping from jail as she is testing her suit, but she must go home to patch it since it is broken. At that point, Tony Stark himself shows up and gives her the go-ahead to transform into a superhero.
Her stepfather and a closest friend are killed in a drive-by shooting while Riri remains a student. According to Marvel, the character’s moniker Ironheart is a reference to “the armor Riri has been striving to construct around herself since then, both physically and symbolically.”
From Disney’s D23 Expo, we did learn a little bit about the plot of Ironheart. Anthony Ramos will portray Parker Robbins, a.k.a. The Hood, it was confirmed during the Marvel Studios segment of the festivities. The Hood is a villain in the Marvel comics, but it seems that he will be a type of friend in the Ironheart series.
The event will also emphasize the notion of magic vs technology. The Hood will stand in for magic, and Riri, apparently, for technology. Riri discusses having a suit of armor but wanting to create a better one in a clip that was only shown at D23. Additionally, Jim Rash’s MIT persona from Captain America: Civil War will be making a comeback. We eagerly anticipate getting a deeper look at the program shortly.
How many episodes are there in Season 1 of Ironheart?

Who is the author of Ironheart?
Chinaka Hodge acts as the show’s lead writer in addition to conceiving the series. The authors of the series include Jacqueline Gailes, Malarie Howard, Francesca J. Gailes, and Amir K. Sulaiman.
Ironheart Release Date
Ironheart is scheduled to debut sometime in the fall of 2023, however, a specific date has not yet been announced.
On November 1, 2022, producer Nate Moore informed Collider that the show’s shooting was nearly complete. “It’s almost done. If I’m not incorrect, they could be on their second to last day. If this is the case, and the program is set to enter post-production, a Fall 2023 release seems plausible.
How to watch Ironheart?
Only this streaming service will provide Ironheart since it is a Disney+ exclusive. The Simpsons, Hulu episodes, Marvel material, and Star Wars series and movies are all available on Disney+ via Star.
Trailer for Ironheart
At D23, the first Ironheart teaser trailer was presented to attendees only; it is not yet accessible online. Fortunately, we found ourselves in the room where everything took place.
I want to construct something like that, but better,” Riri states in the video while wearing a set of armor that may belong to Tony Stark, Rhodey, or someone else completely. Additionally, it confirms Jim Rash’s role as the Dean of MIT’s return and offers the first glimpse of Ramos in his role as The Hood.
Ironheart is being made by who?
Ryan Coogler (together with his wife Zizi Coogler) will collaborate once again with Dominique Thorne to create the series, while Kevin Feige will once again serve as executive producer. Six episodes of the anticipated television series are apparently being produced, with Samantha Bailey (You’re So Talented) and Angela Barnes directing each episode (Blindspotting).
Chinaka Hodge, the series creator, and Eve Ewing will also write the scripts for the six episodes. Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, Sarah Finn (who also oversees casting), Chinaka Hodge, Zoie Nagelhout, Sev Ohanian, Ethan Smith, and Brad Winderbaum are all listed as the show’s producers.
