Ed Helms, Michael Greyeyes, Jana Schmieding, Jesse Leigh, and Dustin Milligan are just a few of the talented and well-known actors who play roles in Rutherford Falls.

Rutherford Falls’s first season aired on Peacock for the first time on April 22, 2021. It had ten episodes. Rutherford Falls has been liked by both critics and audiences. At the moment, Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 94% rating. In just a few days, Rutherford Falls has also gained an enormous number of fans. The creators of the show renewed it for a season 2 in July 2021. Season 2 of Rutherford Falls started on June 16, 2022, and had a total of eight episodes.

Rutherford Falls Season 3 Renewal Status

After two seasons, Peacock announced recently that the show was over. Because of this, the show has no possibility of being renewed by the network, as many original shows on major streaming platforms have been said to be canceled this year.

Even though the show had a lot of fans who wanted to see more seasons so that the beloved characters could get the good ending they deserved, it didn’t get picked up. Rutherford Falls has been taken off the air, which is sad because the show could have gotten better if the script and character arcs were changed.

Rutherford Falls Season 3 Storyline

Season 2 of Rutherford Falls ended with Reagan and Nelson starting a new love story. They told each other how much they loved each other, and Reagan’s ex-boyfriend Josh showed up. It seems like he still has feelings for Reagan. But Nathan has been interested in Deirdre, who used to be mayor of Rutherford Falls and is now pregnant with his child. At the end of Season 2, Nathan was sleeping with Peggy, and Diedre couldn’t wait to get him back.

Nathan Rutheford and Reagan Wells go through a rough time when a problem hits their small town. This is the main plot. When the mayor decides to move the statue of Nathan’s ancestor because cars always crash into it, Nathan starts to fight back and save the statue. Reagan has to choose between being loyal to her friend Rutherford and the people of the Minishonka Nation because Rutherford’s ancestor was known for trying to attack her people during the colonial era.

The show’s creators have decided to end it in September 2022, so we can’t say what will happen in the next season of Rutherford Falls. But if by some miracle it comes back for a third season, we can anticipate it to pick up where the second season left off.

Rutherford Falls Season 2: Recap

When trouble hits their small town, Nathan Rutherford (Helms) and Reagan Wells (Schmieding) are put to the test by their friendship. Nathan goes on a mission to keep the statue where it is after the mayor says that drivers keep hitting a statue of his ancestor and that it should be moved. Since Rutherford’s ancestor was known for attacking Reagan’s people during the colonial era, Reagan has to decide how much she cares about her friend and how much she cares about her people, the (fake) Minishonka Nation.

In Season 2 of Peacock’s hit comedy Rutherford Falls, Nathan Rutherford (Ed Helms) and Reagan Wells (Jana Schmieding), who have been best friends their whole lives, help each other deal with work, romance, and big changes in their small town and the Native American reservation that borders it. These changes are brought about by Tribal Casino CEO Terry Thomas (Michael Greyeyes).

Why did Peacock cancel Rutherford Falls season 3?

In response to the show’s cancellation, the following statement was made, according to Deadline: “It’s been a real pleasure to make these two seasons of Rutherford Falls.” Mike Schur, Ed Helms, and I wanted to make something new, original, smart, and dumb—something that would make you cry, think, and laugh when Reagan got kicked to the face or Nathan was put in a coffin. To put it in the words of Terry Thomas, who is played by the insanely talented Michael Greyeyes, Native representation was mostly a hate crime before our show. That’s why it’s been a pleasure to show the general public the best of Indian Country.
