Based on the novel “Druga szansa” (Second Chance) by Katarzyna Berenika Miszczuk, “Open Your Eyes” (Otwórz oczy) is a Polish television series that blends science fiction and drama to examine topics like memory, institutionalization, innate talent, and independence. The show primarily takes place at the Second Chance facility for memory impairments, where the protagonist, Julia (Maria Wawreniuk), is a patient. Because of what appears to be a combination of retrograde and anterograde amnesia, Julia has trouble recalling her life before entering the rehabilitation facility.
Julia concludes that her amnesia and the death of her parents were the result of the same sad catastrophe. Julia starts having increasingly lifelike nightmares and hallucinations as the show goes on. She’s also come to the conclusion that the facility’s employees might not be who they claim to be. ‘Open Your Eyes’ was met with largely positive reviews after its premiere. We’ve got the scoop on the release date for season 2 if you’re curious.
Open Your Eyes Season 2 Release Date
The first episode of Season 1 debuted on Netflix on August 25, 2021. The United Kingdom, Sweden, Japan, India, and Australia were among the countries that released it. The show’s fate as it enters its second season is quite precarious. The next episode could be delayed even though it was scheduled if the series doesn’t fare as well as projected. However, Open Your Eyes Season 1 can revive itself despite the fact that its makers never considered such a possibility. Both of these are common occurrences in several shows, including this Polish one. Still, there is a great deal of unpredictability.
A second season announcement, however, would be premature at this time. As things stand, Open Your Eyes’ fate won’t be decided until we hear back about the show’s renewal or cancellation. Additionally, we anticipate its release in 2023. We anticipate hearing any formal statements soon.

Open Your Eyes Season 2 Plotline
Julia’s true identity as Karolina was exposed in the season one finale. After a vehicle accident left her in a coma for two weeks, she finally woke up. After regaining consciousness, Julia finds that she is unable to play the piano and concludes that her gift has been stolen by Adam (Ignacy Liss), who does not remember her. In the last moments of the season, Karolina travels back to Second Chance to save her companions.
The potential second season could provide further insight into how skills are passed on from one individual to another. The facility’s use of the “mannequins” stored underground may also be exposed. If Xavier, whose real name is Adam, finds out what Piotr has done, he may decide to visit Second Chance to make atonement. Karolina will undoubtedly face new adversaries in the upcoming season, even with Dr. Zofia on her side.

Open Your Eyes Season 1 Review
Open Your Eyes has a compelling plot that will keep you interested as you follow Julia and her friends through their second opportunity. The show provides an unusual teen drama in the vein of Gossip Girl and the Elite series. The pace of the pilot episode could have been faster and it fails to establish the tension that was promised. Even so, the second chapter picks up the pace of excitement.
In our opinion, the Second Chance is a must-see once for the thrills and the rip-roaring psychological journey of Julia and her pals, as well as for the mystery it presents. In addition, the young actors’ performance delivery is superb, and the tale continually maintains you on your toes and wondering what will happen next.
The plot is intriguing and keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, speculating about what may possibly happen next; the show’s air of mystery is intriguing enough to keep viewers hooked until the very end. Still, it didn’t solve a lot of fans’ burning questions, thus Season 2 is definitely needed.
