The Japanese mecha anime Infinite Stratos draws on a similar series of light novels. The light book series was first released on March 25, 2009, and was written by Izuru Yumizuru with illustrations by CHOCO and Okiura.
The light novel series was also made into a manga series a year after it became popular, thanks to the quick excitement it generated. Infinite Stratos was picked up to be developed into an anime TV series two years after the light book series first came out, and Season 1 debuted on January 7, 2011, for fans to enjoy.
Episode IS: Infinite Stratos Encore—Koi ni Kogareru Rokujuusou—is an original video animation (OVA) that was released on December 7, 2011, after Season 1. Just over two years later, on October 4, 2013, Infinite Stratos returned with Season 2.
On November 26, 2014, another one-shot episode, IS: Infinite Stratos 2-World Purge-hen, was published. Many have been eagerly anticipating news of a third season ever since, both the show’s and the source material’s admirers. So far, this is all the information we have for Season 3.
Infinite Stratos Season 3 Renewal Status

Infinite Stratos Story
Infinite Stratos (IS), an exoskeleton weapon, exists in the universe where the tale takes place. Women alone may operate it as pilots. The weapon’s potency and effectiveness in battle have led to its worldwide prohibition as a weapon of war. Ichika Orimura is a youngster of fifteen years old; he is the only boy in the world who can pilot IS. This is the reason he feels compelled to join the all-female boarding school, Infinite Stratos. Among his buddies are Cecilia Alcott, a British IS spokesperson, and two of his childhood pals.
The plot follows the students of IS School as they fight for their safety and the safety of the school, with the help of the renowned pilot Chifuyu Orimura, Ichika’s elder sister.
