The website’s critical consensus says, “Even though it keeps audiences in the waiting room for a little as well long, Dr. Death is still a scary story about bad medical care, and Joshua Jackson’s performance is sufficiently unsettling.” Metacritic, which utilizes a weighted average, gave the movie a score of 75 out of 100 based on the opinions of 12 critics. This means that most critics liked the movie.

Dr. Death’s first season started in 2021 but was renewed almost a year later for a second season. Taking this into account, season 2 should come out in 2023.

Ashley Michel Hoban is in charge of running, writing, and producing Season 2. Patrick MacManus, who was the producer of the show, writer, and EP for the first season, will also be an EP for the second season. He will do this through his Littleton Road Enterprises banner, which is part of his overall agreement with UCP.

Deadline says that the storyline from the third season, “Miracle Man,” will be showcased in the next season. Ashley Michel Hoban is in charge of Season 2 of Dr. Death as the show creator, writer, and executive producer. She was also in charge of writing and producing Season 1.

Patrick MacManus, who was in charge of manufacturing for the Second season and wrote and directed a few episodes, will be back as an EP for Season 2 as part of his deal with UCP. The new season will be made there under the Littleton Road Production company label.

They went on to say, “Season 2 will focus on Paolo Macchiarini, a delightful surgeon known for his innovative surgeries, which have earned him the nickname “Miracle Man.” When investigative reporter Benita Alexander goes for his story, the boundary between her personal and professional life starts to blur, which changes her life forever.

A group of medical professionals based on the other side of the globe makes some amazing discoveries that call into question everything about the “Miracle Man,” and she finds out how far Mateo will go to keep his secrets hidden.

This fits with what was said in the podcast. Kirby and Henderson spent most of the first season following Duntsch, but it looks like season two will be more about Macchiarini and Alexander’s relationship.

The phrase “panel of doctors halfway all over the world” suggests a level of traveling the world that’s not seen in the initial season. This could expand the show’s scope and take us around the world. It’s still not clear if those doctors will go back to Kirby and Henderson.

Dr. Death Season 1: A Quick Recap

The scary real fact of Dr. Christopher Duntsch (Joshua Jackson), a leading light inside the Dallas medical community, inspired the hit podcast Wonder and the movie Dr. Death. Dr. Duntsch was young, charming, and seemed to be very smart. He was building a successful neurosurgery practice when everything changed all at once. People went into his surgery room for complicated but routine vertebral surgeries but they were permanently hurt or killed.

Dr. Death looks at how crazy Dr. Duntsch’s mind is and how the system that is supposed to protect the weakest people fails.
