What is 1/3?
1/3 is adware for android and iPhone. It contains many features like dialing to any premium number, sending SMS to any number, sending emails using any email service, accessing all contacts on your phone.
This app can block your apps from opening and sending fake messages on the blocked apps, making them look more realistic. After installation, it can also hide from the settings menu in various ways [like hiding icon in launcher]. Still, it’s only possible when you install a third-party launcher in your phone and haven’t installed google search in your device and enabled unknown sources. These two conditions are not met by default, so we will not cover how to unblock/3 in this article.
How to install 1/3?
First of all, we should know how to install 1/3. It is difficult compared to old tricks like “googling” or clicking on random links. You can’t download this app from the play store, but our main aim is not the installation but the installation process, so here are some ways to install adware easily.
The first way is to search any app by typing its name, e.g.:
if you want to search for sun music, type sun music in the google search bar. Though there are a few apps with similar names, most of them will be fake, and usually, one out of five results will be the official app.
sometimes they use different names for the same app, so here are some clues for recognizing the official app :
1.) it will have a 4.4 or above rating in the play store
2.) it will be more than 1,000,000 downloads
3.) if you see an icon of the app with some changes, definitely fake. Play store never has any icon change. Any icon change is a sign of fake apps. After downloading the app, uninstall it immediately without opening it and again search for the same name to find an official one (if available).
The second way is to click on ads that seem like official sources, e.g., the most common example is freecharge links. Most of us click on these links, thinking they will redirect us to recharge or the Paytm home page. They will redirect you to some ad sites with apps, games, and other malicious stuff. Below are the few ads which seem official but are fake.
