Season 1’s plot twists kept viewers engaged. Over 108 million watching hours were logged in its first week on Netflix, making it the most-viewed English-language series in the world. This adaptation of Michael Connelley’s books into a successful courtroom drama series premiered in May of 2022. Mickey Haller is a defense attorney and recovering addict headquartered in Los Angeles. He operates his legal practice out of the back of his Lincoln Navigator instead of an actual office. Mickey gets reintroduced to the legal field after his old friend Jerry unexpectedly passes away and leaves his law firm to him.
The first season of the TV show, adapted from Connelley’s book The Brass Verdict, focuses on the investigation into Jerry’s death and its connection to the case of Trevor Elliot, Jerry’s final client before his death and the man suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend and her new partner. Fans of drama will be pleased to know that we will try our best to provide them with all the details they could possibly desire on the second season of The Lincoln Lawyer, including its premiere date, cast, and storyline.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Renewal Status
Netflix has announced a second season of The Lincoln Lawyer, with The Fifth Witness, Connelly’s fourth Mickey Haller book, to be adapted into 10 episodes. It was always apparent that creator David E. Kelley intended to continue the adventures of the characters in a subsequent season, so this is great news for the show. Similarly, the original Bosch TV series went for seven seasons before stopping and then returning as Bosch: Legacy, also based on a Michael Connelly novel. There was obviously enough interest in The Lincoln Lawyer to warrant a second season, and Netflix has wisely decided to air it.
What Is The Storyline of The Lincoln Lawyer?

What to expect from The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2?
We all know that the first season of The Lincoln Lawyer left off with a cliffhanger with Mickey going surfing as a mysterious stranger, whose identity is unknown to the audience save for a tattoo on his wrist, watches from a distance. But faithful fans of the show will make the connection that he is the same individual who was mentioned by a crucial witness in the trial of Jesus Menendez in the episode Glory Days, and therefore experience an epiphany.
To fill in the blanks for the uninitiated, Menendez was wrongfully convicted of a murder he did not commit and risked unnecessary incarceration as a result. In season one, however, we discover that he was released because Glory attested to his innocence. In reality, he went on to explain that the true murderer was a guy who had a tattoo on his forearm. Even though Glory doesn’t give away his true identity, we can tell that Mickey is in deep peril as the final shot shows the tattooed forearm following him down the beach. It is expected that the consequences of Glory’s testimony and the meeting of the strange guy and Mickey will be revisited in Season 2.
Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer will be based on The Fifth Witness, another novel by Connelley. In this novel, Mickey defends longtime client Lisa Trammel, who is on trial for the murder of her husband. Mickey’s successful convincing of a crucial witness to plead the Fifth Amendment before testifying is vital to the storyline. This is a reference to the privilege of not answering inquiries that may be used as evidence in a criminal case.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Release Date
Michael Connelly, who serves as executive producer and staff writer and is also the author of “The Lincoln Lawyer,” the book series that served as the basis for the Netflix show, said on Instagram that production on Season 2 of the loosely structured legal drama has begun on October 31, 2022. The first season premiered on Netflix throughout the world in May 2022, therefore the formal start date is around six months after that. 18 months after Netflix purchased the rights to the series from ViacomCBS (now part of Paramount), What’s On Netflix reports that ViacomCBS decided against bringing the program to a broadcast platform in 2020.
Based on the show’s historical trajectory and the length of time it takes to cast, cast, and film each episode, it’s reasonable to assume that Season 2 of “The Lincoln Lawyer” (which Connelly says will be an adaptation of his novel “The Fifth Witness”) won’t be available on Netflix until late 2023.
