Stargate Universe Season 3 Storyline
The SGC established the Icarus station on a distant planet with a Stargate powered by massive aquaria deposits in the planet’s core. The team, led by Dr. Nicholas Rush, theorizes that the power from that hub could allow them to “dial” through the Stargate from a 9-chevron point, allowing them access to worlds far beyond their own galaxy. But they aren’t smart enough to find out how to understand the Ancients’ writings properly. To find other exceptional brains like Eli Wallace, a young math prodigy, Dr. Rush develops a video game that is played all around the world.
Despite Eli’s protests, he is taken aboard the Daedalus-class starship battlecruiser Hammond and taken to the Icarus headquarters. In addition to Senator Armstrong, a prominent backer of the Icarus Project, and his daughter Chloe, and other distinguished visitors. They are greeted by the facility’s military officers, including Colonel David Telford, Colonel Everett Young, First Lieutenants Matthew Scott and Tamara Johansen, and Master Sergeant Ronald Greer.
The second season episode “The Greater Good” reveals the Ancients’ plan for Destiny, altering the group’s focus. The Ancients found a synthetic pattern in the cosmic microwave background radiation, which is assumed to be a residue from the Big Bang, and Dr. Rush deciphers the ship’s secret code and assumes control of the ship’s circuits. Destiny was built millions of years ago to research and collect evidence on the likelihood of life existing before or shortly after the Big Bang, which was prompted by this discovery. The scene concludes with the crew continuing to fight for survival while also devoting itself to exploring the possibility of an original intelligence, notwithstanding the fact that Destiny has not solved the issue after millions of years of study.
