Spriggan Season 2: Release Date, Cast, And Everything We Know About

‘Sprigaan’ is a sci-fi action ONA series adapted from the manga series of the same name by Hiroshi Takashige and illustrated by Ryoji Minagawa. The protagonist of the novel is 17-year-old Yu Ominae, an operative for the ARCAM Foundation, which seeks and, if necessary, destroys or seals up potent treasures from ancient civilizations. Yu is a member of ARCAM’s elite military unit, the Spriggans. Yu, although one of ARCAM’s greatest operators, is still a teenager at heart and longs to devote more time to his friends and classmates at school.

After the premiere of its first season, ‘Spriggan’ was largely praised by critics. The animation and battle scenes were particularly well received, however, the program was criticized for containing too many expository sections, a common complaint with anime. If you’re curious about the future of ‘Spriggan,’ Season 2 is definitely happening.

Spriggan Season 2 Renewal Status

Although Netflix has not officially renewed Spriggan for a second season, there is sufficient reason to assume that it will. The most obvious clue is that the anime has not yet adopted the whole narrative arc of the manga, so there is still plenty of material to work with.

Spriggan Season 2 Release Date

On June 18, 2022, the first season of “Spriggan” premiered on Netflix (Season 2 of “Man vs. Bee”). Neither the show’s producers nor anyone from Netflix has confirmed that a second season will be made. However, the first season’s final sequence hints at the possibility of a second season. Sho Kanaya, a major villain in the manga, joins the ONA and is sent to kill Yu at his school. This seems to indicate that the producers have every intention of continuing with Season 2 of the show.

Apparently, there are more stories in the original manga series by Takashige and Minagawa than are featured in the first season of “Spriggan.” The series runs for 11 volumes. Therefore, there is enough material for future seasons to be made. The show also has an established audience because the manga “Spriggan” is so well-liked. It is possible that “Spriggan” will be renewed for a second season if it is as popular as other ONAs like “Blood of Zeus” and “Record of Ragnarok,” both of which were recently renewed for more episodes. If this happens in the following several months, season 2 of “Spriggan” will premiere in the second quarter of 2024.

Spriggan Storyline

The anime series is centered on the manga by Hiroshi Takashige and Ryji Minagawa and is a Netflix Original from Japan. There was a sophisticated alien race living on Earth before primitive humans arrived. Unaware of the power they wielded, these beings ultimately caused their own destruction.

They did, however, issue a warning for future civilizations on indestructible tablets: destroy all evidence of the aliens’ devastating technology or face dire consequences. In order to prevent renegade performers from making use of the artifacts’ abilities, the ARCAM Corporation and their paramilitary squad, the Spriggans, are currently engaged in a mission to conceal them. The legendary Ark of Noah has been discovered in the Ararat Mountains, and ARCAM has dispatched our hero Yuu Ominae to investigate.

The US Machine Corps, a radical branch of the DoD led by Colonel MacDougall, ambushes the site, though. MacDougall is attempting to kidnap ARCAM’s head scientist so he may steal the artifact on the Pentagon’s orders. In order to stop MacDougall and the elite Machine Corps warriors from assaulting the Ark, Yuu and fellow soldier/spy Jean Jacquemondo must work together.

Spriggan Season 2 Plotline

The first season of ‘Spriggan’ consists of mostly standalone episodes with minor connecting plots. While fighting his former mentor Bowman, who ultimately dies in Yu’s arms in the season 1 finale “The Forgotten Kingdom,” Yu is confronted with his history. And he knows better than to put all his faith in ARCAM. A soldier single-handedly eliminates a group of mercenaries in the post-credits sequence before being dispatched to Yu’s school posing as a student in order to eliminate him. A red glow appears in the soldier’s eyes, suggesting he may possess supernatural abilities like those of the Spriggans.

Season 2 is likely to show that this soldier is actually Sho Kanaya. Perhaps Yu’s history will be revealed to us. In the manga, Yu served on the COSMOS team alongside Sho. COSMOS is made up of brainwashed kids the CIA and the US military have rounded up from all across the planet. In the post-credits scene, Colonel Ralph Cooley could be revealed to be Sho’s commanding officer. In the upcoming season, the Sasahara siblings may find out about Yu’s other existence.
