In the 12-part anime series, a little girl called Somali and an old robot forest guardian named Golem form a father-daughter attachment. The anime takes place in a world where supernatural beings like goblins and ghosts have taken power. We humans are already on the brink of extinction and have resorted to hiding. Somalia was found in the wilderness by Golem one day.
In the end, Golem became Somalia’s guardian. Golem does everything in his power to locate the last humans so Somalia may be reunited with them, despite being aware that he only has a year to live.
The manga’s Chapter 31 from Volume 6 was translated for Episode 12. However, the ending deviates somewhat from the original. In the last heartbreaking moment, Golem realizes he has feelings as he attempts to escape Somalia with Oni.
If the show is revived, it will probably adapt Chapter 32 and the whole of Volume 6 of the manga. Visiting a destitute community is something that Oni, Somali, and Golem do in Chapter 32. The locals welcomed them with open arms and begged Golem to remain and help them restore their forest.
Somali and the Forest Spirit Season 2: Is there enough source material?
Another manga adaptation that follows the manga series to increase sales is Somari to Mori no Kamisama. This means the production company needs enough material to change the program so it can continue. The 2015–2019 serialization of this manga is complete.
