Therefore, he suggested that everyone get cleaned up and go immediately. He ran up to Missy and told her that Marybeth was getting shot and that Sheridan had disappeared. Sheridan, meantime, saw a ship and persuaded it to flee. Wacey, though, was present and attempted a shootout. Sheridan was forced to take cover in the area. Meanwhile, McLanahan drove to the station where he found Sheriff Barnum intoxicated. Barnum said that the money was too little for them to have to run after crooks like Nate.

Something wasn’t right, though, and McLanahan caught on to it. Wacey, meantime, pursued Sheridan, who had taken refuge under his truck. Joe contacted the authorities in an effort to discover Marybeth’s whereabouts. Joe steadied himself, but then he heard gunfire. He killed a man, retrieved his rifle, and opened fire on the truck in a matter of seconds. When Joe got behind the wheel, Hank told Arlen to give Mom a call and find out where she was. Hank began pouring gasoline onto the burning cab of the truck.
