The genre-bending iZombie is the brainchild of Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Rob Thomas. The series, which premiered on March 17, 2015, is a loose adaptation of Mile Alfred and Chris Roberson’s comic book of the same name. Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge join Ruggiero-Wright and Thomas as executive producers.
There are a total of five seasons for this show. The series’ last season debuted in 2019. The show’s popularity among viewers has grown steadily since its premiere. IMDb users ranked the show at 7.8 out of 10. After the conclusion of the fifth season, fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of season six. Now that we know everything there is to know about the show’s sixth season, we can put your fears to rest.
iZombie Season 6 Renewal Status
There will not be a sixth season of iZombie. With the conclusion of Season 5, the series is officially over. In May of 2018, The CW announced that iZombie, along with several other long-running series, would be canceled. Despite its critical acclaim and popularity among fans, iZombie’s viewership has never matched those of similarly popular shows like Arrow or The Flash. Nonetheless, viewers should be content knowing that the show had an opportunity to satisfactorily conclude the story.
“It ties off the season beautifully. Showrunner Rob Thomas has promised that any questions about the show’s overarching storyline would be resolved. All of our favorite characters will be sorely missed. Still, five seasons isn’t awful at all. Furthermore, there is always the risk of stretching the tale so much that it loses value if the show prolonged its run past season 5. ”’

The creators concluded the most recent season superbly, answering all remaining questions. As a result, viewers shouldn’t hope for a sixth season and should instead consider Season 5 as the series finale.
iZombie Storyline
A medical student named Liv Moore has been invited to a party that quickly becomes a terrifying zombie battleground. After passing on, she becomes a zombie upon her return. In order to maintain her humanity, she needs to eat human brains. She needs access to them, so she takes a job in the coroner’s office. By absorbing another person’s personality and memories through her stomach, she is able to provide psychic assistance to Detective Clive Babineaux.
iZombie Cast and characters

- Malcolm Goodwin as Clive Babineaux: A Seattle PD detective, newly transferred from vice to homicide when the series starts.
- Rahul Kohli as Ravi Chakrabarti: A medical examiner, Liv’s friend, and Major’s eventual roommate.

iZombie Season 6 Plotline
In the season finale of iZombie, the struggle for Seattle reached a critical point. A remedy for the zombie virus is finally within reach, and thanks to a spectacular heist and some sneaky maneuvering, Liv and her team have everything they need to make it and show the world that it is feasible. Finally, a flash ahead shows Dale, Ravi (now head of the CDC), Peyton (now a DA), and Clive (co-captain of the SFPD with Ravi), discussing the closing days of the pandemic on a talk program. It’s obvious that the virus has been contained, and most people assume that Liv (aka Renegade) was killed during the decisive conflict. But there’s a catch: Liv isn’t actually dead (or at least not any more than usual). She and Major have realized the original vision of a zombie island, a place where infected people who don’t wish to be healed (since doing so often results in death) can go to live out their days in peace.
Not simply the post-zombie lifestyles of the major characters, but how zombie island came to be and how Liv and Major succeeded in getting everyone to there who wanted to go would have been great to explore in a sixth season. How does a zombie utopia work exactly? From where do they obtain such brilliant ideas? Is there some sort of underground zombie train bringing in more of the undead? There were other plot threads that could have been wrapped up in a final season that dove deeper into the ten-year gap.
