Grace Season 4 Renewal Status
Yes, indeed! Grace’s fourth season renewal was announced in January 2023, well before the show’s third season premiered. Dead Man’s Time, Want You Dead, You Are Dead, and Love You Dead, the following four volumes in Peter James’ Roy Grace series, will be adapted.
Grace Season 4 Release Date
Grace’s fourth season was confirmed in January 2023, a full year before the third season had even begun broadcasting. Peter James’s next four Roy Grace novels—Dead Man’s Time, Want You Dead, You Are Dead, and Love You Dead—will be adapted in this much anticipated new installment.
Filming for Grace Season 4 will begin in April of this year, and the next episode is expected to premiere in 2024. Early renewal and the short time between seasons (less than a year) suggest that the show will begin airing sometime in early 2024.
Grace Storyline
The story follows DSI Roy Grace across the busy metropolis of Brighton and Hove as he investigates a series of murders. Each episode of this riveting series delves deeper into a separate case and provides insight into Roy’s personal life and the investigations conducted by his industrious staff.
The intriguing books by Peter James that serve as the basis for the feature-length episodes of “Grace” are “Dead Man’s Time,” “Want You Dead,” “You Are Dead,” and “Love You Dead.” The stories in these books cover a wide range of genres and styles.
An antique heist, an ex-lover with obsession issues, a possible serial killer, and the presence of a mysterious black widow all figure into the plot. The story of what happened to Roy’s wife, Sandy, while these mysteries unravel, is also continuing to pique viewers’ interest.

Grace Season 4 Plot
It is widely speculated that the new series will draw inspiration from Peter James’s novels Dead Man’s Time, Want You Dead, You Are Dead, and Love You Dead, each of which served as the basis for a feature-length episode of Grace. The four books deal with a probable black widow, a serial killer, an obsessed ex-lover, and the theft of valuable antiques. Also included are updates on the search for Roy’s missing wife, Sandy.
Since James has written a total of 19 books centered on the Roy Grace character (eight have been filmed so far for the first three series), and since he is currently working on a spin-off novel, there is potentially the potential for even more Grace series. In an interview for the premiere of Grace Season 3, he said, “I’m writing Sandy’s story as a standalone novel at the moment, which is from her perspective from the day she leaves him and the real reason that she leaves him.”

Grace Season 4 Episodes
Due to the show’s literary inspiration, the number of episodes in season four is unknown. Season 4 will likely consist of the same number of episodes as previous seasons, though it’s more likely that there will be three. The fourth season is centered on the works of Peter James, and each episode normally covers one of his novels.
Grace Season 3 Review
A 650-page novel was condensed into a two-hour TV special, so we occasionally came across what were presumably the skeletons of events from the novel that were never given the chance to mature.
The terrible storyline has zero bearing on the plot that was only partially established. Nothing made sense in the third season; instead, everything looked at odds with one another, full of unnecessary drama that was ultimately silly and dull. Whether or not Grace’s wife was still alive was all anyone could think about or anticipate.
Nevertheless, Season 3 was the most exciting of the bunch, and in a series where the pace has been so spot-on from the get-go, Season 3’s finale was the most powerful episode to date. The personal lives of the show’s main protagonists took a back seat to the plot for the majority of the enthralling hours.
As a result, they’ve had to deal with a number of challenging situations. The brilliance of the show, as always, was in the way in which the various parts were cobbled together. The dark daughter’s need for revenge and the distraught father’s unbridled agony are front and center in this riveting TV series. There were several great moments that made viewing the whole thing worthwhile.
