“Our game has a long history among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through the Warriors On The Field documentary, I look forward to sharing this understanding and insight with others.”
Football, according to Michael O’Loughlin, “has the power to unite us, teach us, and ultimately shape us.”
I think this film demonstrates the beneficial influence that sports have had on both my life but the lives of numerous others who came before me.
First Nations athletes, who are most equipped to address these concerns in our sport and society, must be listened to and learned from. This nation still has a long way to go, but we must persist and spread knowledge anyway.
