Development and story so far:
Duffer Brothers created the series, which is currently streaming on Netflix, becoming one of the most popular watches of all time.
The story’s events are set back in the 1980s in a fictional rural town named Hawkins, Indiana.
We are introduced to a group of nerdy boys and best friends – Mike, Dustin, Will, and Lucas.
The town has its own hidden mysteries, and it slowly unfolds when Will goes missing.
The main reason for his disappearance is found to have been a supernatural alternate dimension being created by the Department of Energy in Hawkins laboratory by scientists under the close observations of Dr. Martin Brener.
Their experiments opened a gateway to the other universe called the Upside Down, where Will accidentally gets trapped.
Dr. Brener also keeps children doing experiments and creates psychokinesis in them.
A girl named Eleven with such psychokinetic powers escapes and later joins the group of friends to help find Will and fight the demons from the Upside Down named the demogorgons.
Will’s mother, Joyce, and Hawkin’s chief officer, Jim Hopper, along with Nancy, Mike’s sister and Steve, boyfriend of Nancy and Jonathan, Will’s brother, help in their mission to bring back Will to the world of reality.
The second season happens a few months after they have successfully brought Will back to the other side of the Upside Down world.
But they do not know that Will is still under the influence of the Upside Down world and experiences nightmares that again start a series of mysterious happenings in Hawkins.
They are faced with a creature named Mind Flayer from the alternate dimension.
Eleven, after the events of the last season, is separated from the group and joins back to fight the monster once again.
Some new characters like Californian newcomers to Hawkins, Max, and Billy are introduced in this season, and they too join the gang in their adventure to fight the Mind Flayer.
Eleven is being protected and kept safe by Hopper in his cabin, and he ultimately helps her to meet her biological mother, Terry.
Meanwhile, Will’s condition turns more mysterious, and Joyce, along with Jonathan, Hopper, and his friends, goes to Dr. Owens for help.
By the end of the season, Will can return to normal, but the Mind Flayer still remains alive in the Upside Down world, observing the world above.
Season 3 starts later in the year 1985, and Starcourt Mall is becoming a major attraction in town.
But the actual reason behind its opening is the Soviet Army trying to re-open the gates that were previously closed by Eleven with her powers.
Billy is seen under the mind trap of the Mind Flayer, and Will senses the monster’s return.
Mike and Eleven form a romantic relationship, much to the dismay of Hopper and Joyce, and are planning on leaving Hawkins to start a new life.
The whole gang comes once again together to end the Mind Flayer once and for all and to close the gate protected and guarded by the Soviets.
By the end of the season, Hopper is believed to be dead, and Joyce decides to move from Hawkins along with Eleven and her two sons.
Billy sacrifices his life to save the others, and new characters are introduced, like Lucas’ sister Erica and Steve’s new friend Robin and Hopper’s friend Murray who joins the adventure.
Season 4 Expectations and Released Episodes:
The story continues after nine months of the happenings in the mall, and the rest of the population of Hawkins believes it to be a mall fire incident.
