Shining Vale Storyline
In the first episode of the first season, Patricia and Terry move their family from New York City to a rural home in Connecticut in an effort to salvage their marriage and enhance their bonds with their children. Patricia has overcome her lengthy bout of writer’s block and is once again putting pen to paper. But the ghost of Rosemary Wellingham, a housewife from the 1950s, soon follows her.
Later in his career, Terry would regret this choice. Terry, a close friend, has been keeping a secret from her. After making a deal with Rosemary Wellingham, Patricia finds that she has gotten more than she bargained for in terms of a boost to her marital and professional career. Individually and collectively, the Phelps family battles against the demons that come for their souls as Patricia’s terrible book ending comes to light in the season finale.
