Based on Wataru Momose’s manga of the same name, the first season of the anime Romantic Killer premiered on Netflix on October 27, 2022, and consists of 12 episodes. Here is an official synopsis of the manga, which is followed by the anime: The senior of Anzu Hoshino High School can’t complain. Her daily routine consists of playing video games, eating excessive amounts of food, and petting her cat. But her perfect life is shattered when an enchanted creature whisks her away to a parallel universe devoid of all her familiar comforts.
The premise of the first season is that Anzu is anti-romantic, but that she is being pressured by these events to consider being romantically connected with many different possible suitors. What follows is what we know regarding the future of the program.
Romantic Killer Season 2 Renewal Status
Fans have been wondering what would happen to Romantic Killer ever since the first season became available on Netflix in October of 2022. Without question, the anime’s reverse harem aesthetic draws viewers in as it examines the decisions the protagonist must make. Despite this, DOMERICA (the studio house behind the series) and Netflix have made no official statement in over five months. The show hasn’t been renewed yet. However, you should know that not every anime submitted to Netflix is accepted. Making a choice might sometimes take more time than anticipated. You shouldn’t give up hope.
Within just a few hours of its release, the anime ranked among Netflix’s top ten anime. The program was well-received not just by its target demographic, but also by reviewers. The high quality of the animation has been praised by many. The program also scored well on IMDb (7.6 stars), despite not being on the streaming giant’s platform. In addition, on MyAnimeList, it received 8.1 out of 10 ratings. Since the original run of the anime was so successful, its creators may find it easier to return with a sequel. The fact that the streaming giant hasn’t canceled the anime yet is a positive sign that it may be revived.
Romantic Killer Season 1 Recap
Our lovable heroine, Anzu Hoshino, doesn’t want to add romance to her already hectic schedule. She only has three true loves in her life: Momohiki the cat, video games, and chocolate. Magical storytelling and Hoshino’s daring but hilarious adventure to find love are what draws viewers to Romantic Killer. Through a series of events, the protagonist and the observers grow closer to each other as they follow this “anti-heroine” through the process.
In the first season, Anzu challenges Riri, a love cupid, in an Otome game, and she ends up being used as a guinea pig in a real-life dating harem experiment. She had to give up her top three interests in order to concentrate on her romantic life. Hoshino’s first love interest is Tsukasa Kazuki, the school’s most popular boy, and Riri is determined to hook them up.
Some could consider it a dream come true because Anzu is surrounded by handsome men thanks to Riri, the little magician creature. However, for Anzu, this was the absolute worst-case scenario. She restrained herself and made it clear that she was not interested in any of the men Riri suggested. She would not allow a wizard to convert her romantic life into a video game.
Hoshino is first shown to have only superficial connections with her romantic interests, but this changes as the story progresses. Despite their differences in personality and approach to Anzu, viewers can’t help but develop a fondness for at least one of Tsukasa, Junta, and Hijiri. The effort put into developing a rapport between Anzu and the lads makes up for the show’s implausible setting.

Romantic Killer Season 2 Expected Plot
Anzu, the show’s female protagonist, was entrusted in the first season with finding “the one” before she graduated from high school. Tsukasa was her first serious suitor. When it was revealed that Tsukasa’s cold demeanor was the result of a stalker situation, the anime took a decidedly darker turn. Then there was her childhood best friend and the object of his affection, Junta. The haughty tsundere prince Hijiri was Anzu’s third suitor, while the troubled Ryuya was her fourth. In contrast to Junta and Tsukasa, they lacked the intimacy she craved. The season focused on her relationships with her four suitors, but the adversary Riri was also introduced.
However, that all shifted in the season finale. Tsukasa’s stalker Yukana was investigated. Anzu, who was also attacked, battled with Tsukasa against Yukana. Tsukasa’s struggle against Yukana was aided by Hijiri, who stepped in and used the connections his family had to support him. Riri’s goal was to keep everyone safe. So he cast a spell that erased all of Yukana’s memories, but especially those of Tsukasa. Tsukasa was able to overcome his trauma and make progress toward Anzu when he learned the details of the case. Junta and Tsukasa, on the other hand, were hurt and stated that Anzu simply considered them friends. Meanwhile, Anzu is pleading with Wizard Kate to let Riri into her heart.
Romantic Killer Season 2 Release Date
The story ends on a cliffhanger, so curiosity won’t be the death of the cat any time soon. Season 2 is currently under production. For those of you who have been patiently waiting, Riri, our favorite magician, has granted your desires.
Netflix has yet to announce a specific premiere date for Season 2 of Romantic Killer. The release date is yet unknown, although it is expected to be somewhere in the second quarter of 2024. The anime and manga both stopped after the first season. Season 2 will thus come as a complete and utter surprise, with a whole new narrative and progress with Hoshino’s prospective romantic interests.
Romantic Killer Season 2: Will It Happen?
The season end of Romantic Killer teases a possible sequel, but Netflix has yet to continue the show for a second season. Many plot threads in the anime were left hanging at the end, suggesting a second season. Tsukasa and Junta eventually began to regard Anzu as a romantic prospect. Anzu, however, managed to persuade Wizard Kate to give Riri a chance rather than picking up her partner. Before anybody could find out the ending, the credits rolled. Many anime do this to tease the next season. However, there are a number of anime that left viewers hanging with cliffhangers and were never continued. Let’s look on the bright side, however, and hold out hope that Season 2 of Romantic Killer will soon be available on the streaming giant’s platform.
