ReLIFE Season 2: Will It Ever Return?

Based on the manga series of the same name, the anime television series ReLIFE (or Riraifu in Japanese) is a romantic comedy. The Sou Yayoi-created and -illustrated manga series premiered on television on October 12, 2013. TMS Entertainment announced on February 13, 2015, that it would convert the manga series into an anime television series, and on July 2, 2016, the first season of ReLIFE debuted.

Followers of the television series and the source material remain eagerly awaiting word of a second season, despite the passage of time. All that we know about Season 2 thus far is included below.

ReLIFE Season 2 Renewal Status

This anime’s first season and OVAs were created by TMS Entertainment. In 2018, they finally put out their final OVA episode. After that, they stopped talking about the show’s future altogether. No word yet on whether or not there will be a second season from the producers. Season 2 of ReLife has yet to be confirmed. Fans of the anime around the world are patiently waiting for the producers to approve a second season.

ReLIFE Season 2 Release Date

The first season ran from July 2, 2016, on the original networks of Tokyo MX, GYT, GTV, and BS11, and it lasted for a total of 13 episodes. On March 21, 2018, not only did the final four episodes become available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video but also on Blu-ray and DVD. The show was given 7.8/10 by IMDb users and 78/100 by AniList viewers. Also, 88% of people find it to be appealing. People enjoyed the manga series and the live-action film because of the success of the anime.

No new information on season 2 has been released. Season 1 aired for two years before a four-episode special was released, and now it looks like that may be it for the series. Since then, there have been no reports or updates, heightening the intrigue. It’s possible that it won’t be renewed for a second season, but you can wait if you like.

ReLIFE Season 1 Recap

The protagonist, Arata Kaizaki, is a 27-year-old loser who is sick and tired of his existence. He’s merely an impatient dreamer who hasn’t bothered to work for a better life. He perpetually seeks better work prospects by moving from one company to another. Then, at long last, Ry Yoake came to assist him out, and he was given a medicine that would alter the course of his life forever. Arata swallowed the medication without giving it much thought, and the next day found herself in high school, enrolled as a 17-year-old.

When he first tried it, he was overjoyed since he thought it would increase his enjoyment. He had gotten to be aware of his new classmates and had several issues, but he considered ending it all. If he can make it through the year without breaking, the ReLife Research Center will offer him a position. what made sense to him in the end, and he accomplished what he set out to do.

OVA Ended the Story

As was indicated up top, the anime’s story arc was wrapped up in the fourth OVA episode. Fans watched as Chizuru and Arata ran into one another outside the restaurant in that episode. Chizuru tells Arata that she, too, participated in ReLife, and Arata probes her for details. A fireworks display, she says in response. This brings to mind a time when the two of them attended the fireworks festival together. Chizuru then returns their attention to Arata, who is waiting for her.

Will ReLIFE ever return?

The first season of the anime series was a huge critical and commercial success. In 2016 and 2017, fans showed the most interest in this anime’s second season. After that, however, interest in it and purchases of it dwindled. On May 11, 2019, the final installment of the manga series was released. As a result, another season of the show is quite doubtful.

The anime’s last OVA episode also contributed to the original plot. There were no unresolved plot threads or loose ends at the end. Therefore, a fresh story arc is required if Season 2 of ReLIFE is to be renewed. The odds of there being a second season are so low. And unless the creators alter their views, fans will have to wait a long time for the second season of the anime.
