Making A Murderer Season 3: Renewal Status, Release Date, And Everything We Know Far

Making A Murderer is a TV show that is based on a real-life murder case. Crime thrillers are scary and fun to watch if you like movies with suspense and violence. Many people might not want to watch true crime thrillers because they are based on real crimes and the criminals are real people we wish had never lived. Some people are scared by how the show describes the criminal, the climax, and the victim. They don’t have the courage to watch the great murder scenes.

Make A Murderer is a true-crime documentary series that started airing on Netflix on December 18, 2015. Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos wrote and directed the show, and Laura Ricciardi, Moira Demos, Lisa Nishimura, Adam Del Deo, and Synthesis Films made it. There have been 20 episodes in the show’s two seasons. We will find out when the third season will be out.

Making A Murderer Season 3 Renewal Status

Reviews of the second season of Making a Murderer have said that it doesn’t have the same momentum or big reveals as the first season, which made people talk nonstop about the case. This was kind of expected since so much of season 1 was spent talking about Steven Avery’s first conviction and release, the details of Teresa Halbach’s murder, and building “characters” like Ken Kratz, the shady prosecutor, Dean Strang, and Jerry Buting, Steven’s dogged defense team. Even though season 2 took longer to film, it feels like less ground was covered and there is a lot less buzz about it. Considering this, it would make sense if Netflix decided to end the documentary series after two seasons.

Still, producers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos haven’t given up on the idea of a third season. When Cosmopolitan asked Demos about season 3, he said, “Maybe!” This means that the two are open to going back to the case if Netflix makes a decision to order season 3.

Making A Murderer Season 3 Cast

In this nonfiction book, there is the Avery family, which contains Steven Avery, Allan Avery, Dolores Avery, Chuck Avery, Earl Avery, Barb Dassey, Brendan Dassey, Bobby Dassey, and so on. Then there are Penny Beerntsen, Teresa Halbach, and Gregory Allen, who is a rape victim who has not been identified or given a name.

There are many defense lawyers, like Kathleen Zellner, Dean Strang, Jerome Buting, Robert Henak, Stephen Glynn, Len Kachinsky, and many more. On the side of the government, Denis Vogel, Ken Kratz, and Norm Gahn are on the case. The judges were Patrick Willis, Jerome Fox, and Angela Sutkiewicz. There are a lot more people who have posed as police officers or private detectives.

Since this show is based on real life, there are no actors or other performers on it. All of the above names belong to real lawyers, judges, etc. Also, we haven’t heard anything about or been given any hints about any new cast members. Since this is a non-fiction show, this could mean that the person who has been in it before will probably stay the same.

Making A Murderer Season 3 Storyline

Making a Murderer could be turned into an anthology series for season 3 and follow a new person who is also thought to have been wrongfully convicted. Making a Murderer is often compared to the popular true-crime podcast Serial, which took this approach. In seasons 1 and 2, Serial focused on different stories, and in season 3, each episode was about a different case to give a broader look at justice in the United States.

Ricciardi and Demos may not want to stop focusing on Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, though, because they have become so involved in their lives and cases and have grown close to their families.

One last possibility, though it’s not likely, would be to concentrate on Teresa Halbach’s family and how they dealt with the long, drawn-out legal process after a loved one died. Prosecutors have always said that the Halbach family has been through a lot and needs to move on as a reason not to let a retrial happen, but we haven’t really heard their side of the story.

The problem is, of course, that the Halbach family doesn’t want anything to do with Making a Murderer. The credits for season 2 start with a list of people who refused or didn’t respond to requests to be in the show, and a lot of the names are Teresa’s friends and family. But if Demos and Ricciardi could get the Halbachs to talk to them, season 3 could be an interesting contrast to seasons 1 and 2.

Making A Murderer Season 3 Episodes

If the showrunner chooses to make a second part of Making a Murderer, it could have 10 or more episodes, just like the first part did. So the next part will have at least 10 attacks.

Making A Murderer Season 3 Release Date

Making a Murderer’s first season arrived out on December 18, 2015. It had 10 episodes. To promote the show, Netflix put the first episode on both YouTube and Netflix at the same time, which it hadn’t done with any of its other original shows. The show was a huge hit, and after so many fans asked for a second season, Netflix announced it in July 2016. The 10 episodes of the second season came out on October 19, 2018.

Still, as of this writing, there isn’t any new news about when the third season will be out. We’ll have to wait a bit longer for the official word. No one knows for sure if the creators will make a third season or not.
