After a long wait, the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will start this year. It will adapt a few of the most exciting parts of the manga. Even though we don’t know much about season 2 yet, what we do know is very intriguing for fans of the popular Shonen series.
Jujutsu Kaisen became one of the most amazing new Shonen animes to come out in 2020. It had fun characters, great animation, and fights that really lived up to the hype. Since the first season ended in March 2021, fans have been eagerly waiting for new episodes. In December 2021, they saw the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which was a prequel to the main story of the series. Since then, there has been no new animated Jujutsu Kaisen content.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 storyline
The Death Painting Arc, which ran from chapters 55 to 64 in the manga, was the last part of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Gojo’s Past Arc, which is chapters 65–79 in the manga, will be adapted first in the second season. This is now a fact. That is about, you guessed it, Gojo’s past, particularly a mission in which Gojo and Geto were sent to Tengen to help a star plasma ship.
The Shibuya Incident will also be used in season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen (chapters 79-136). We’re not going to give anything away here, so don’t worry, but the Shibuya Incident Arc is all about a plan by Gojo and his new cursed alliance to seal Goto away. That has been affirmed to last for two full seasons, so the next season could have anywhere from 24 to 26 episodes.
Need a quick review of what’s already happened? After beating Eso and Kechizu, the Cursed Wombs, Yuji and Nobara went back to Megumi. On the other hand, Sukuna eats Yuji’s finger. He does this by putting a mouth in Yuji’s hand because of anime. This gets him one step closer to gaining back his power.
Expect the new season to deal with this growing evil as well as the evil of Choso, the third Cursed Womb triplet, who joins forces with Geto and Mahito, the two main bad guys of the show. At Jujutsu High, there is also the small matter of a mole, and teacher Utahime is very interested in finding the sneaky sorcerer. This will be a big part of the next season as well.

But what about the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta Okkotsu? The manga hints that he’ll be in the main show soon, and a scene after the credits in the prequel movie pretty much confirms that.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 Trailer
At Jump Festa ’23, Mappa showed a trailer for the upcoming season that you can see above. The teaser shows the designs of some of the most important characters in Gojo’s Past story arc, but it doesn’t show any new animation or the voice actors for the new characters. Mappa has also released a poster for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, which shows both the main cast in the present and young versions of Geto, Gojo, and Shoko from Gojo’s past.
Where can I watch Jujutsu Kaisen season 2?
Outside of Asia, you should be able to watch Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen on Crunchyroll. Fans who want to see the first season of the hit show can do so on both Crunchyroll and HBOMax.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date
At the Jump Festa ’23 event, it was said that the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will start in July 2023. It will have two seasons, so it will probably be on until the end of the year and have about 24 episodes. This season has 24 episodes, just like the first season, which also had 24 episodes. But since more chapters of the manga are likely to be used in the second season, it’s probable that season two will have a few more episodes.
Genge Akutami made the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, which started coming out in 2018 and is still going. During the Jump Festa event, Nobunaga Shimazaki read a letter from Akutami that hinted that something would end in the next year. This could be an arc of the manga, the manga itself, or something else.
With over 70 million copies in circulation, the English version of the series published by Shueisha and Viz Media has already become the best-selling series of all time. About the anime version, both the movie and Season 1 can be watched on Crunchyroll, which will also show the next season at the same time.
