Emergence Season 2 Renewal Status
The first season of “Emergence” began on ABC on September 24, 2019. This mystery-based, thriller-drama with some sci-fi elements ran for 60 minutes per episode. After nine episodes, the show took a break from December 10 to January 10, 2019. Then, on January 7, 2020, it came back again. The last episode of Season 1 came out on January 28, 2020. It will be shown on ABC.
Ratings-wise, the show did not do well, which was a shame for fans. The first episode got a not-too-bad rating of 0.8 in the 18-49 age group, but in the weeks that followed, the ratings slowly went down to around 0.4. Only 1.98 billion people watched the second-to-last episode, which was a show low and didn’t look good for the future.
Fans did worry that the show could be canceled. And, as was expected, ABC decided to end the show after only one season. The second season of “Emergence” has been canceled, and this is now a fact.
Emergence Storyline

Strange things come to light, like the fact that Piper has lost her memories and that the plane crash didn’t hurt her at all.

Emergence Season 2 Release Date
On September 24, 2019, the first season of Emergence came out with 9 episodes. Each episode lasted for an hour. Not many people watched the show. Still, Season 2 of Emergence was thought to be coming out. But the second season of the show was canceled. ABC took it off the air. The main reason for the cancellation is that COVID-19 is in the middle of a pandemic. Fans who are looking forward to Season 2 will be sad to hear this.
Emergence Season 1 Review
Emergence is a tv series that has a lot of trouble figuring out who it is. Beginning as a mystery with Stranger Things-style elements, the 13-episode story has been a battle between multiple antagonists and distinct plots. This has led to a messy and often tone-confused story that hasn’t found a consistent rhythm. It’s also frustrating because there are a lot of good things about the show, like a diverse, likable cast and some nice plot twists. The early-season promise is then lost when the main plot is changed too many times. This means that the series ends in a very different location than where it began.
At the start of the story, there is a lot of mystery. A small child is discovered on a beach among pieces of broken things. No one knows who she is or why she is there. As powerful people try to take her away, police chief Jo gets caught up in a plot that goes all the way to powerful people who work in the shadows. As the series goes on, we learn more about Piper and who or what she is, and then we’re thrown into a bunch of twists, unexpected events, and cliffhangers that keep us on the edge of our seats until the two-part action-packed finale.
The problem with this kind of story is that continuity and pace are lost, especially if you watch it all at once instead of one episode at a time. The tone of the season finale is very distinct from the beginning. Some people may like the move toward action-packed thrillers, but it was the mystery and slower pace of the first few episodes that made the show so interesting.
With a cliffhanger conclusion and no word on whether or not it’s going to be renewed for a second season, it seems unlikely that the show would end like this, especially since some networks are quick to cancel shows with low ratings. Even so, Emergence is a good show to watch, but it won’t set the mystery or thriller genre on fire any time soon.
