Who doesn’t enjoy reading about young witches? This new young witch has a twist, and it’s sure to please fans of the genre who have come to expect a strong blend of occult subjects and teen drama. She is a rare Afro-Latina magician, powerful but befuddled by time travel. Based on the works of Isidora Chacon and co-written by Ana Mara Parra, the series is directed by Mateo Stivelberg and Liliana Bocanegra.
Despite some criticism, the show’s first two seasons were generally favorably received. Many viewers are probably wondering when they may get their hands on Always a Witch Season 3. This is all the information we have.
Always a Witch Season 3 Renewal Status
The third season renewal for ‘Always A Witch’ has not yet been announced. On Netflix, you may watch all 18 episodes from both seasons. The second season became available on Netflix in February 2020, but the streaming service has been mum on whether or not the show would be renewed.

Always a Witch Storyline
In Siempre Bruja, we accompany 19-year-old witch Carmen as she travels from the 17th century to present-day Cartagena. Carmen, a former Colombian slave, came dangerously close to being burnt at the stake after declaring her love for a white man. Using a powerful spell and some wizardly assistance, she manages to escape and time travel to modern-day Cartagena in order to save her beloved.
The show is based on Isidora Chacón’s novel Yo, Bruja. It has elements of a coming-of-age tale, some historical drama, and a healthy helping of imagination. Siempre Bruja makes an effort to delve into the murky past of the persecution of Black witches. The city of Cartagena was one of the first locations where the Spanish Inquisition operated. In the pursuit of identifying and eliminating witches, many people, primarily African slaves, were reportedly tortured here. Not only does the show’s eponymous character give a career-making performance, but several of the youngest and most gifted Latin American performers in the cast do as well.

Always a Witch Season Review
Given the focus on romance, it’s encouraging to see that the characters interact well with one another. There’s also a healthy dose of eccentric slapstick humor for good measure, making this a series that’s more likely to appeal to women. That is largely down to Jhongy Ki, who carries the humorous weight for the majority of the show. To give a lot more away would be to ruin the different plot surprises waiting inside the episodes, but a late plot twist does turn things on their head as he becomes a more major person and breaks out of his humorous constraints.
Despite its many redeeming features, Always a Witch is not without flaws. It has its moments of silliness, and the many special effects are middling at best. While it doesn’t take away too much from the presentation, the lack of realism in the dark shadow effects is noticeable. Given the gloomy plot, the idyllic tropical setting with its white sand beaches and warm sunshine seems out of place. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it is a little out of the ordinary to see the climactic showdown occur on a stunning beach with the sea sparkling like diamonds.
