With its new series of episodes on Disney+, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is less cinematic. The new series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier gives viewers an in-depth look at the lives of two fan-favorite heroes: Sam Wilson and James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes.
Fans are already hoping this is only the start for this series and these characters, especially since it has such huge personalities attached to the MCU. But what will occur when this is finally over? Also, how exactly will it be linked to everything else in the cosmos? Everything you want to know about the second season of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is right here.
Falcon And The Winter Soldier Season 2 Renewal Status
Like WandaVision, all of Marvel’s upcoming MCU TV programs for Disney+ have only been announced for a single season at this time. However, Kevin Feige has stated that ideas for Falcon and Winter Soldier season 2 have been considered, thus at least some shows will be renewed for a second season. There’s no assurance it will, but it’s another ratings win for the streaming platform, so it stands a good chance of happening.
Falcon And The Winter Soldier Season 2 Release Date
The production of Season 1 ran into numerous problems because of the COVID-19 Pandemic issue, and the show was delayed for a long period until it finally premiered. Season 2 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premiere in the first few months of 2024. As part of Disney Platform distribution, the franchise will be available on Disney+ HotStar upon its debut.
Falcon And The Winter Soldier Storyline
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier focuses solely on Bucky and Sam, two of Captain America’s closest pals. Their surprising and endearing bromance in season 1 drew in a lot of viewers, and it looks like it will continue into season 2.

Falcon And The Winter Soldier Season 2 Plotline
Season 1 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ends with the Flag-Smashers destroyed, but there is plenty of story buildup for season 2. The most obvious clue to this is in the episode 6 post-credits scene, in which Sharon Carter is reinstated to her government job after being pardoned, only to disclose in a phone conversation that she intends to bring down the government from within. Nobody knows for sure who she’s talking to, but it’s probably either Zemo or Valentina.
Season 2 of Falcon and Winter Soldier may focus on Sam and Bucky’s fight against a future MCU threat posed by either the Thunderbolts or the Dark Avengers. John Walker, who has taken on the role of US Agent from the comics, is at the forefront of this movement; while the story deviates from the typical “bad guy turns good” plot, Walker’s new approach still has the potential to put him at odds with Sam and Bucky.
