We have a responsibility to take notice when renowned director Kogonada creates a television program, and Pachinko did just that. The drama, which is adapted from Min Jin Lee’s book of the same name, was released on Apple TV in 2018 and has an outstanding cast and staff. The drama series has received high marks for its captivating storytelling, excellent scripting, and stellar acting.
Apple TV Plus’s green light for a second season on the streaming service comes as no surprise. So, here’s all you want to know about when you can expect to watch Pachinko Season 2:

Pachinko Season 1 Recap
The protagonist, Sunja, is a strong lady who makes her way from Korea via Japan to the United States. She is taking two barrels of kimchi with her as she immigrates to a foreign place in the hopes of finding work. Kimchi is a staple of Korean cuisine and hence appears in almost every Korean drama.
In 1920, when Japan was occupying Korea, the events of the drama take place. Sunja meets and fell in love with an attractive dock worker around this time, and she soon discovers she is pregnant. In addition, she learns that Hansu is already taken and goes on to wed Isak, a priest. After the birth of their twin twins, Isak is incarcerated on political charges and she is left to raise her children alone.
Sunja chooses to sell kimchi at the pier in order to provide for her boys while she waits for her husband’s return. All this does is clear the way for the courageous Sunja to relocate to Osake, where she may begin over in the hopes of an improved future.

Pachinko Season 2 Plot
There are currently no known specifics about the second season of Pachinko, although the book may provide some clues. So far, Pachinko has stayed true to the original with just minor changes. Sunja had found some financial stability by selling kimchi and was eagerly anticipating the release of her incarcerated spouse when we last saw her. Season 2 of Pachinko will most likely continue this story.
Naomi, a new character, will also provide a new aspect to the proceedings, but her precise function is still up in the air. As the program progresses, we should see many people grow and change, and the stakes may rise to an emotional level.

In addition, Hugh and Pachinko’s executive producer, Theresa Kang-Lowe, have confirmed that the show would continue for at least a few more seasons.
