Teen drama “13 Reasons Why” on Netflix is about a high school student named Clay Jensen who tries to figure out what happened to his friend Hannah Baker by listening to the 13 tapes she made before she killed herself. Through Hannah’s story, the show attempts to demonstrate how bullying in high school can result in sexual assault and other bad things if it isn’t stopped. The Dark Mystery Series is based on Jay Asher’s best-selling adult novel, which Brian Yorkey turned into a movie. On March 31, 2017, it was first shown.
13 Reasons Why Season 5
The show was praised by critics when it came out because it talked about sensitive but important topics like sexual abuse, bullying, suicide, depression, betrayal, PTSD, and other mental health problems. Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford’s performances were praised for being electric. Katherine went on to be nominated for the Best Actress Golden Globe Award. The show also got in trouble for having mature content that was hard on the emotions and a graphic suicide scene that has since been taken out.
But critics didn’t like the later seasons because they seemed to be sympathetic toward a character who raped women and because the story was too complicated and had too many unneeded subplots. Still, there are a lot of people who like it, especially teenagers. Even though it became one of the most famous shows on Netflix, the show was canceled after its fourth season. Do you want to know why it was canceled and if there will ever be a season 5 of “13 Reasons Why”? Well, here’s all the information you need.
13 Reasons Why Season 5 Renewal Status
After years of dispute, the end of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why may feel like it’s been a long time coming, but fans of the hit teen drama may still want more. Since season 4 came out on June 5, the show has been near the top of Netflix’s list of what people are watching. On the other hand, showrunner Brian Yorkey thought that the show was always meant to be a “four-season story.”
“Somewhere in the middle of making season 2, when it became clear that we might be able to make more seasons of this,” he told Entertainment Weekly, “I pretty quickly got to a place where it felt like a four-season story.”
The fourth and final series ends with the characters graduating from Liberty High, but Yorkey has also said that there won’t be a college spinoff. He went on to say, “I’d love to see how some of these characters do in college, but I also like the idea of leaving it up to our imaginations and making this a four-season high school show.”
13 Reasons Why Season 5 Storyline
Even though it might make sense for 13 Reasons Why season 5 to follow the main group of students after high school, the most natural place for a possible fifth season to take place would still be Liberty High.
13 Reasons Why was about the problems and traumas of the students that seemed to be unique to life at Liberty High. Like Degrassi: The Next Generation and Love, Victor, 13 Reasons Why could follow the next group of students at Liberty High School in a possible fifth season. 13 Reasons Why could keep the original spirit of the tv series while passing the baton to a new group of students if it brought back students from the first season. Fans of 13 Reasons Why will have to trust Netflix, for now, that season 4 really is the last.

13 Reasons Why Release Date
The whole of Season 4 of “13 Reasons Why” came out on Netflix on June 5, 2020. It has ten episodes that are each an hour long instead of the usual thirteen. All of the episodes are on Netflix.
Over the years, the show’s popularity and ratings have been going down. When we add that to the fact that the main actors were given raises and that big production companies like Paramount TV made the show, it makes sense why the streaming giant decided to cancel the drama series. Netflix always tries to get a better return on the money it spends. So, as of right now, season 5 of “13 Reasons Why” is no longer going to happen.
