Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot, and Everything You Need to Know

The renowned fantasy anime Wise Man’s Grandchild (Kenja no Mago), sometimes called The Sage’s Grandson, will make its debut in the spring of 2021. In April 2019, many local networks, such as AT-X, ABC, Tokyo MX, and BS11, began airing the anime, which was based on a light novel adaptation by Tsuyoshi Yoshioka and drawn by Seiji Kikuchi.

Funimation and Crunchyroll also have licenses for them, which helped them acquire popularity throughout the globe. Plus, Hulu TV airs it all over the world. Silver Link, a popular Japanese animation company known for Bofuri and other renowned programs, is responsible for creating Wise Man’s Grandchild.

There were a total of twelve episodes that made up the first season, which concluded with “And So, Off into the World… “on June 26, 2019. We are wondering about the status of the series and when we may expect to see the second season.

Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2 Renewal Status

The anime television series concluded on June 26, 2019, after a debut season that lasted only 12 episodes. Positive ratings and reviews for the first season, together with good viewership and critical reception, make a second season a real possibility. ‘Wise Man’s Grandchild’ received a 6.62/10 rating from 328,626 people on MyAnimeList.

‘Kenja no Mago’ has seventeen volumes so far, and we all know that it’s based on a light novel series in Japan. Even though there is enough content to fill a new season, news of a renewal has been nonexistent.

In addition, Kadokawa plans to release at least one Isekai anime per season and is eager to concentrate on developing a new successful series. ‘The Rising of the Shield Hero’ and Re: Zero’s second seasons are already in the planning stages, according to Kadokawa executives. So, if they can renew, then there’s no reason Kenja no Mago can’t either.

Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2 Release Date

We don’t have a solid premiere date for the anime since the developers of “Wise Man’s Grandchild” haven’t officially confirmed a second season. The amount of time it might take to produce Season 2 is even more worrisome.

The 2017 announcement of the anime’s first season was followed by its 2019 premiere. It may be years after the original announcement before viewers witness the continuation of the anime if the creative process for Season 2 is similar to its predecessor.

Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2 Plot

Season 1’s final episode of “Wise Man’s Grandchild” saw Shin rejecting Schtrom’s demon army. However, Schtrom continues to be a danger to the many kingdoms of Earth. Consequently, Shin gathers his squad and sets out on a mission to forge agreements with other kingdoms to fight the demon menace.

This timeline just encompasses the first few volumes out of a total of seventeen, according to the manga summary posted on the online manga site Bookwalker. Should a second season be greenlit, Silver Link already has plenty of material to draw from.

From Shin’s brief beach vacation after the aforementioned conflict to his continued attempts to unify the world’s nations into a World Union, these volumes cover a range of events. The unfortunate reality is that fans will probably have to wait a while to see how these events unfold. Up until then, fans of “Wise Man’s Grandchild” could only find answers to their queries in the manga and light novels.

Wise Man’s Grandchild: Is there enough source material?

The Wise Man’s Grandchild is a light novel series that began in 2015. Tsuyoshi Yoshioka wrote it, and Seiji Kikuchi drew the illustrations.

With 17 volumes under its belt, the light novel series shows no signs of ending. In 2016, Tsuyoshi Yoshioka adapted the light novel into a manga series, with Shunsuke Ogata serving as the artist.

Just like the original light volume, the anime follows it. The manga based on it is also drawn from this. That means it stays true to the source material as well. Chapter 20 of Volume 4 concludes the light novel series.

The manga series, however, has reached Chapter 50. If readers are interested in finding out what occurs next in the story, they may start reading Chapter 21 of Volume 4 of the light novel. The second season of Wise Man’s Grandchild will most likely begin before this chapter, however.

Chapter 30 is the place where fans of the manga should begin reading. The fact that the anime will depart from the manga in some key respects makes for an intriguing adaptation.

A total of three full seasons of the Kenja no Mago light novel and manga series are already in the canon. The series renewal will proceed without any issues related to the unavailability of source material.

Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 1 Rating

My opinion is that the series is decent if you’re interested in giving it a try but have never watched it before. The program has a solid 6.8/10 rating on IMDb and an average audience score of 57% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2 Trailer

You can’t see the series’ second-season trailer right now. The second season must be illustrated first. A renewal for the second season is also necessary, and it is the most crucial one.
