The Guest Book Review
It seems that Garcia got the concept for the program from his attempts to scare off the next guests in a hotel by writing fictionalized entries in the guest book. Attempting to make us laugh is, of course, his goal, and he succeeds admirably. The play as a whole has a pleasant vibe, and the cast is more than game to make it a good time.
The main residents and staff of the apartment complex are quickly introduced in the first episode. As we learn more about each of them, we see that they each have their own arcs, but the program moves at its own pace, choosing to show these arcs play out over the course of the season.
The topics of the jokes range from sexlessness in relationships to contraception, so if you’re hoping for sophisticated humor, find elsewhere. After all, this show is the pinnacle of contemporary comedy; the laughs aren’t from the jokes or the punchlines, but from the dysfunctionality that humans showing, and viewers get a certain voyeuristic pleasure from reading the guestbook, which gives them a glimpse into the thoughts of the traveler who has come to spend the day in their town. In the meanwhile, the storylines of the recurring characters build into a thrilling climax.
The Guest Book Season 3: Will it ever return?
Most viewers were curious about the likelihood of a Season 3 of The Guest Book. Indeed, that is the case. There is a remote likelihood that the third episode will air. Unless a network steps up to air the show, viewers will be limited to the fan base. Shows that were successful but were subsequently canceled are sometimes picked up by other networks.
