Disadvantages of cycling:

Lack of physical strength, i.e., less power in comparison to other transportation means like a car, bus, etc. which forces cyclists to pedal harder and that ultimately leads to lower average speed than other methods of carriers:- Most cyclists can average 16-20 mph on level ground, but this is not the case with uphill cycling where the cyclist has to pedal harder.

Cycling is not suitable for long distances, which force the cyclist to take frequent breaks increasing the total time of transportation:- Cyclist in a bike can travel a distance of 30-35 miles in an hour but in comparison to any other short carriers like walking, taking a lift from somebody or using public transportations, they have significantly less advantage.

Cycling is suitable for short distances only where the cyclist constantly pedals with reduced speed:- Like mentioned before, cycling is not ideal for long-distance traveling, which reduces its overall benefit.

Delayed response in emergencies because of having both hands occupied due to using handlebar and hand brakes instead of foot-operated brakes that are available in motor vehicles:- In case of emergencies, the driver of a cycle has to release one hand from steering or braking and apply brakes which take more time than foot-operated brakes available in motor vehicles.

It is not suitable for transporting goods, i.e., if you have to transport something from point A to point B, then it can’t be done through cycling because of the unavailability of space to carry goods and things.
