In ‘Almost Family,’ a remake of the Australian series ‘Sisters,’ three women learn that their fertility doctor is the biological father of all four of their children. Why was Almost Family Season 2 canceled?
Fox confirmed in March 2020 that the drama series Almost Family had been canceled and will not return for a second season. The low ratings and mixed reviews for the first season were among the many factors that led to the show’s discontinuation. The rape allegation against Timothy Hutton, however, was a major factor in the show’s demise as well.
The statement was made just hours after the article appeared on Buzzfeed News. Former child actress and model Sera Johnston, now 50, claims that Hutton raped her in a Vancouver hotel room when they were both 14 years old. Johnston claims that the molestation took place in 1983 after she had visited Hutton at a diner.
