Undoing is a TV miniseries in the genre of psychological thrillers that is based on the book You Should Have Known. The book “You Should Have Known” was written by Jean Hanff Korelitz and came out in 2014. David E. Kelley wrote and made the first season of Undoing. Some of the best actors in Hollywood, such as Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, star in the popular show Undoing. The first season of Undoing debuted on HBO on October 25, 2020. Undoing became the most-watched show on HBO in 2020, which shows how popular this show is.
Undoing became the most popular show and broke the records set by Game of Thrones in terms of production value and the size of the sets where the show was shot. Critics said that Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant’s performance was the best part of the show. Critics also liked how the show was shot. In terms of pace, writing, and character development, the show is falling behind. But when we look at the show as a whole, it lives up to its grandiosity and well-known star cast.
Undoing Season 2 Renewal Status
In terms of how well the series did, the American miniseries did very well. It also broke and set new records for the number of people who watched the show. Even so, the people who make the show don’t seem to have a plan for the second season. So, we can say for sure that The Undoing might not have a second season. But, there is a real reason why there might not be a second season. The plot of the series concluded with the finale episode, yet there were no such essential aspects that might proceed in a second season. This is why it is just proper to conclude the story at a fulfilling climax for the viewers.
Undoing Season 1 Quick Recap
Even though the main plot of the first season of Undoing was a murder, the show got off track quite a bit. The first season of Undoing was about a married couple named Jonathan Fraser and Grace Fraser. Their lives take a complete turnaround when they get trapped in an investigation surrounding a murder. The plot further goes about the ways in which they prove their innocence and baffles the viewers, making them suspect that Grace and Jonathan were involved in the murder. At first glance, the story seems pretty interesting, but as the episodes go by, it’s easy to guess what will happen and what problems will arise. That’s one bad thing about the show. Other than that, though, the performances are very good.

Undoing Season 2 Plot
We all know that the show’s titles come from the novel You Must Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz. The first season of the show ended after only six episodes, which didn’t leave much room for a second season and made fans wonder if there would be a second part. The people who make the show haven’t said anything official yet, but fans are keeping their fingers crossed and holding out hope to see the second season soon.
But Grace, played by Nicole Kidman, and her husband Jonathan, played by Hugh Grant, are at the heart of the story. When Jonathan, Grace’s husband, is suspected of murder, his life is turned upside down. According to the claims, Elena Alves was killed by her husband. Jonathan’s family is attempting to clear his name in the next part of the story. While that is going on, an investigation is being done to find out who the real killer was.
Since Grace is a therapist and Jonathan is an oncologist, it makes sense that a doctor could kill someone. As the story goes on, more riddles are given to avoid giving anything away. The show keeps keeping people interested and on the edge of their seats. As the episode comes to an end, the story takes some unexpected but satisfying turns. The show was so popular that until the last episode, it brought in new viewers every week. It was a huge hit for HBO.
Where to watch Undoing?
The first and only season of The Undoing has a total of six episodes. The episodes, on the other hand, run for about an hour. In the U.S., you can watch the hit show on HBO Max. If you live outside of the U.S., you can binge-watch the series on Disney Plus. It’s also on Amazon Prime Video, where you can watch it.
Undoing Season 2 Release Date
Predicated on my super-scientific analysis of the first season’s (COVID-delayed) production and release schedule and past HBO renewal announcements, it’s probably in late winter or early spring of 2023.
In March 2018, HBO said that it had ordered the first season of The Undoing. The first season was filmed all over New York State in the middle of 2019. The show was supposed to start in May of this year, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, it was moved to the end of October. Also, Big Little Lies was supposed to only have one season, but it was renewed in December 2017, eight months after the first season ended. The second season started filming in March 2018, and it premiered in June 2019.
