The 2021 K-drama “My Name” is a critical and commercial success. The action K-drama features an impressive cast and an exciting plot. Fans of Korean dramas were left wondering if there will be a My Name Season 2 after the success of this female-led drama. Over 80 countries, including Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand, featured “My Name” in their top 10 charts after its initial release. The action movie remained number one for several weeks. Star of the hit K-drama “Nevertheless” Han So Hee plays the lead role. She’s been fantastic all through the show.
Netflix and Attention have been buzzwords for the past five years, and they’re still fascinating. Now, Netflix is back with another intriguing and compelling series, My Name. Let’s see what Netflix has in store for us this time around and what it’s all about in season 2 of the show about a girl whose father was murdered in front of her eyes.
My Name Season 2 Renewal Status
‘My Name’ has not been picked up for a second season on Netflix. Although ‘My Name’ wasn’t as widely successful as ‘Squid Game,’ it nevertheless received a lot of coverage in countries all over the world. The song “My Name” made it into the top ten in more than 80 countries. It remained a top pick in both countries for multiple days. My Name has been one of Netflix’s most popular Asian series since Squid Game, topping the charts in several countries and regions. These places include Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Each of these is a promising indicator. However, Netflix has been known to pull the plug on shows despite stellar ratings in the past. The first season ended with a conclusion as well, thus there may be no intentions to continue the series. There’s nothing we can do until we hear Netflix’s official statement.
My Name Season 2 Release Date
The first season’s eight episodes are poised to launch on October 15, 2021. Season 2 of the crime drama thriller is slated to premiere on October 14, 2022, but how many episodes will it have? That’s just conjecture at this point; I say we wait a few more days for the premiere of Season 1 and then see where the plot goes from there. My guess is that the second season will begin airing fairly shortly.
My Name Storyline
Yoon Ji Woo, the daughter of a thug, was the initial target of birthday bullies in My Name. The worst part of the day is when her father dies right in front of her eyes. She sets out to find Choi Moo Jin in order to exact her vengeance. Moo Jin recruits her into the gang by informing her that he knew her father well. He facilitates her covert operation and provides training among his troops. He further encourages her to join the force so she can exact vengeance on the police officer he claims murdered his father.
After some time had passed, we found out that Ji Woo had become Oh Hye Jin and was now an officer. She eventually joins the drugs squad as a new agent. Ji Woo’s mind is set on retribution even as he leads a double life as an officer and Mu-jin’s informant. She goes through a series of ordeals, including an assault at the hands of an insecure and envious ex-gang member, throughout the course of an investigation into a narcotics case. And her co-officer finds out the truth about who she really is. However, it is also the key to unlocking the mysteries of her father and Mu Jin. She may have avenged herself but at the cost of becoming the monster the true evil envisioned.

My Name Season 2 Plotline
In “My Name,” we follow Yoon Ji-woo, a young woman who is involved in the largest drug ring in Korea, based in the city of Dongcheon. To avenge her father’s death, she poses as the police officer Oh Hye-jin. The first season effectively concluded the story. To put it simply, Yoon Ji Woo has won. She got her hands on the man who killed her father and she made him pay. Her father, it turned out, had infiltrated the gang as an undercover police officer. Yoon Ji Woo respects and appreciates what she did in taking down the Dongcheon gang.
Ji Woo not only figured out what happened to her dad, but she also figured out who killed Detective Jeon Pil Do, who had grown close to her over the course of the season. She eliminated Mujin, the Dongcheon gang’s chief. When it comes to the original plot, there are no more questions to be answered. If Yoon Ji Woo’s show is picked up for a second season, we should expect him to face a new challenge. She may go back to work for the police department, perhaps in the narcotics division. This would put her in contact with Cha Gi Ho, the head of the Narcotics crime team and the only person with more information about her father than she does.
My Name Season 2 Trailer
