One of the major mysteries in the anime business thus far is the eventual production of Erased: Season 2. Fans were immediately drawn to the scientific suspense plot in which Satoru Fujinuma travels back in time to prevent a murder spree, and because the anime’s conclusion was somewhat positive, it would be a shame not to continue the story.
On the contrary hand, the story can’t really go anywhere from here because there are no more loose ends. That could be the unfortunate reason we haven’t heard anything about Erased Season 2. Nonetheless, let’s examine what we know regarding the future of the sadly underrated show.
Erased Season 2 Renewal Status
‘Erased’ hasn’t been picked up for a second season as of this writing. Whether or not there will be a second season of the anime is still unknown. Seven years have passed since the series finale of the anime. Whether or if the anime’s newfound popularity on Netflix will be sufficient to warrant the production of a second season remains to be seen. In April of 2016, the original manga ended. Both the anime and live-action versions of the movies came out in March 2016. Only the live-action picture stayed true to the manga’s ending, according to Crunchyroll. The anime’s popularity persists despite this.
Erased Season 2 Release Date
Season 1 of ‘Erased’ premiered on January 8, 2016, and concluded on March 25, 2016, after 12 episodes. Considering that people are still discussing the first season, it’s possible that there may be a second. However, the lack of source material for Boku dake ga Inai Machi season 2 is a serious issue, as the author of the original manga stopped producing new volumes after volume 7. But another author, Hajime Ninomae, has written a novel continuation that ties up the first season’s loose ends. So there is anticipation of a new season, but there has been no announcement as of yet. At this point, all we can do is hold out hope that season 2 of “Erased” will premiere before the year is up.
Erased Storyline
Satoru Fujinuma, an aspiring mangaka in his twenties, experiences a strange occurrence known as resurrection. In times of peril, he automatically rewinds the clock a few minutes, giving him a fighting chance to avert disaster and, in most cases, save lives. Satoru returns home one day to find his mother dead on the floor and is subsequently arrested and convicted of her murder.
To save the victim, he uses his ability, and suddenly finds himself in 1988, back when he was in elementary school. Then, Satoru resolves to use the opportunity to rescue the life of Kayo Hinazuki, a lonely former classmate of his who vanished during the time frame in which his mother’s killer himself kidnapped and murdered three children.

Erased Season 2 Plot
The manga’s creator followed up the conclusion with two additional volumes that delved deeper into the story. In the sequel, Erased: Another Record, we learn more about Gaku, Satoru’s teacher, and the motives behind his murderous rampage.
Another offshootErased: Re was a brief account of what happened to Satoru’s companions over the course of 15 years, beginning with the time he went into a coma. Since the spin-off doesn’t add anything to the main story beyond making the happy ending even better, it feels more like a bonus episode. Another possibility is that Satoru’s new life takes an unexpected turn or that a new protagonist will be introduced in Erased: Season 2. Time will pass slowly regardless of the outcome.
Erased Season 2 Trailer
Sorry, but not quite yet. Season 2 has not yet been officially announced. You may watch it right now on Netflix or any of the other anime streaming platforms. While we anticipate more information, please enjoy this trailer for Season 1.
Erased Season 2 Episodes
There were 12 episodes in the first season of the Erased anime. Although we have expounded on why we believe a second season of Erased to be extremely doubtful, and no one has said definitively anything about it, we currently know very little about the show beyond the fact that should it return, it will almost certainly consist of at least 12 episodes.
Erased Season 1 Rating
I can assure you if you haven’t watched the series and are curious about its quality, that it is quite nice! The average audience rating on MyAnimeList is 8.32 out of 10, making the show’s IMDb score of 8.5 a respectable one. Therefore, in my opinion, this is a program worth keeping.
Which Studio is making Erased Season 2?
The anime’s graphics, more than its unusual location, won over audiences. That wasn’t unexpected, given that A-1 Pictures, the company behind the anime, is also responsible for such visual masterpieces as The Seven Deadly Sins, The Blue Exorcist, and Darling in the Franxx.
Unless we hear otherwise, it seems likely that A-1 Pictures will handle the animation for any potential Erased: Season 2. For what it’s worth, I don’t think anyone would be upset to see the gorgeous painting style make a comeback.
Where to watch Erased Season 2?
Since we have already mentioned that we don’t expect season two of Erased will be revealed, there is currently nowhere to view it online. Still, the first season’s airing pattern suggests that Fuji TV in Japan and Netflix, which features animation, will both air the show.
