Carnival Row did not get the same shot at survival that Prime Studios usually gives its shows before canceling them. Season 2 was ordered before the first season had even aired, so fans knew they were in for a winner. The pilot did not fare well in the ratings. Orlando Bloom has hinted that the pandemic’s timing, coinciding with the filming of season 2, may be to blame for the show’s demise.

Carnival Row Season 3 Plotline
After Season 1 concludes with the Darkasher mystery and Philo’s mysterious past, Season 2 focuses more on the gulf between regular humans and magical beings. When Jonah and Sophie come to power, they implement segregationist policies including excluding all supernatural beings from leaving the Row and outlawing flight for them. Nonetheless, while Philo is preoccupied with a fresh mystery, it is up to Vignette to keep the Black Raven from attacking the humans.
There, Agreus and Imogen’s honeymoon is cut short as Ezra comes after them and several Pact rebels kidnap the couple. Season 2’s scope was significantly broader than the first season’s, which was focused mostly on the Burgue.
As the story progresses, more and more characters, magical beings, locations, and social classes are added to the established universe. If the show hadn’t been discontinued before Season 3, we would have liked to see more of a focus on Ragusa, the Pact, and the New Dawn. It would be interesting to learn more about the fae’s origins now that Tirnanoc is no longer subject to the Pact’s governance.
Darius and Sophie, two of our favorite characters, might need some reanimation magic. The reason is, they might have easily dominated Carnival Row Season 3 with Imogen’s newly found feeling of empowerment and identity. We will keep this page updated with any new information on Season 3 of Carnival Row.
