Antonio Banderas has won the award for best actor at the Hollywood Film Awards in its 23rd edition, which was held yesterday at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly hills (Los Angeles, USA). The Malaga was recognized for his role in 'Pain and Glory', the film directed and inspired by the life of Pedro Almodovar.

What made the moment of delivery special was the fact that it was delivered by his former stepdaughter, Dakota Johnson, whose mother, Melanie Griffith, was married to Banderas from 1996 to 2015. Johnson, 30, cried while giving him the prize and called him "Daddy", as she herself revealed that she still calls him, and was excited about her "pure passion" as an actor.
Banderas, had nice words for his ex-wife, Griffith, who had come with her daughter, Stella and he affectionately referred to Dakota:
"Daddy still calls me, and I love it, you have no idea. We had 20 years of beautiful family life that was beautiful, but the best is yet to come. No matter how many movies or theatrical productions, you (Stella) have been my best production ".
This awards gala, lower profile than others in the industry such as Golden Globes, is the first of the season of awards in the race to the Oscar. This award brings Malaga a little closer to the Oscar race since 'Pain and Glory'begins to sound in the face of Academy nominations, among them the Best Actor.
The filmmakers also came out as winners in the management sections James Mangold ('Ford v Ferrari') and Bong Joon Ho ('Parasite') and the actress Charlize Theron He won the prize of tribute to a whole career.
